About the Golden Gate Consultant's Net

Welcome to the Golden Gate Consultants Net.  The GGCN, established in 1997,  provides a network for consultants to get to know each other better,  to exchange ideas and experiences and to share consulting opportunities.  Most of the consultants in the network specialize in Information 'Technology consulting, but there are many other specialties represented as well.

Mission

The mission of the Golden Gate Consultants Net is to provide greater value to our clients and increase our success as consultants by leveraging the collective knowledge, experience, marketing capabilities and consulting skills of our network, while retaining our independence as individual consultants and consulting firms.

Breakfast Meetings

A Golden Gate Consultant's Net breakfast meeting is held the second Friday of the month. The purpose of the breakfast meeting is to get to know each other better, to learn what each is doing, and to share information and opportunities. After the breakfast, focus group breakout sessions are conducted. See the description of Focus Groups below. If you know of someone who might like to attend, please invite them. You can be asked to be added to the GGCN e-mail list.

Can’t come to the meeting? Here are a couple of other ways that you can actively participate in the network:

  • Share consulting opportunities, job openings and interesting articles or web sites. You are encouraged to use this distribution list to forward e-mails to all of the members of the network. Simply click on “reply to all”, copy and paste your message over the existing message and then click send! By the way, shameless self-promotion is acceptable. So feel free to send out information about your expertise or your company’s products and services.

  • Find a consultant for a project. If you are looking for a consultant, consider the members of the network. For a list of members, a description of their specialty and contact information, click here - GGCN Resources. If you’d like to be added to this list, send me your particulars.

Consulting Partnering Guidelines

A question that is frequently asked is how can I partner with other consultants and split fees. You can view two simple consulting partnering guidelines that have worked well for me over the past 10 years and by clicking here - Consulting Partnering Guidelines. They are designed to build long-term partnerships between consultants. They are voluntary, requiring agreement by both parties of course.

Marketing Focus Groups

Marketing Focus Groups are designed to leverage the knowledge, experience and extensive contacts of our network, each directed toward a particular consulting area, industry or company. If you are interested in participating in a Focus Group, send an e-mail to the related focus group contact person, or join the group during the breakout session at the Friday breakfast meeting. If you wish to propose a new Focus Group, simply send a broadcast e-mail to the group proposing the focus area and asking for participants. Then begin scheduling meetings.  Click here to view current focus groups - Focus Groups.
