Used order management and financial settlement processes to evaluate and implement IS solutions in record timeframes.

Implemented ERP in 3 months from ground up; managed integration of ERP with commercial web site and TestMart suppliers and logistics providers using Vignette tools; implemented changes to business processes for end-to-end electronic processing of customer orders, resulting in elapsed time savings of over one hour per order.
Managed project to develop a private marketplace web site for the U.S. Navy in 60 days, ahead of schedule; site enables end-user military personnel to purchase equipment on-line at up to a 60% discount; streamlined credit card verification and settlement process using Verisign and Wells Fargo Merchant Services.
Implemented executive management reporting system for key TestMart business performance indicators using Cognos and other desktop reporting tools; system enables internal analysis and external publishing of order and sales activity, reducing report-writing cost.

Increased electronic shipping transactions from none to 50% of total volume, saving DHL up to 75 cents per shipment.
Developed and deployed an average of one new e-commerce product per year for DHL customers, positioning the company to differentiate favorably among highly automated competitors. Products included: turnkey mail room shipping solution (hardware and software); desktop shipping, tracking and service information software; initial web site and web-based shipping solution; voice response shipment tracking (first to market) and pick-up scheduling services; EDI billing services.
Built and managed an e-commerce product development and support organization of 40+ people and a budget of over $3 million, including project managers, business analysts, a customer help desk and a field implementation, training and support group.
Upgraded over 1,500 distributed, stand alone PC hardware/software shipping systems so that shipping information could be uploaded electronically and customers could access DHL’s central data bases for current shipment status and delivery information; project resulted in significant reduction in phone calls to customer service and elimination of duplicate data entry at DHL operations and billing centers .
